Industry Leadership
Roxanne Avent Taylor is one of Hollywood’s most influential independent producers and entrepreneurs. As Co-Founder and CEO of Hidden Empire Film Group, she has spent more than sixteen years building one of the entertainment industry's most successful Black-owned production companies, producing commercially successful and culturally impactful content across theatrical, streaming, and global platforms.
Film Production Success
Under her leadership, Hidden Empire has produced a diverse slate of films, including The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2, Fatale, Black and Blue, The Intruder, Traffik, Meet the Blacks, and Supremacy. These projects have featured acclaimed talent such as Hilary Swank, Michael Ealy, Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Mike Epps, and Mahershala Ali.
Expanding Creative Portfolio
Most recently, Roxanne produced the psychological horror film FEAR and continues to lead the development of high-profile projects, including Freedom Ride, a biographical film about civil rights leader John Lewis, Free Agents, and a multi-part documentary series on Floyd Mayweather. She also serves as an executive producer on several unscripted series and cultural documentaries.
Hidden Empire Sports
In 2024, Roxanne launched Hidden Empire Sports, a division dedicated to elevating athlete stories beyond competition. By combining sports, entertainment, and storytelling, the company develops original content, documentaries, podcasts, and brand partnerships designed to position athletes as influential cultural figures on a global stage.
Mentorship & Community Impact
Beyond entertainment, Roxanne is deeply committed to mentorship and social impact. Through her C.L.I.M.B. (Community, Learn, Inspire, Motivate, Build) mentoring program, she provides resources and opportunities to underserved young women. She has also partnered with nonprofit organizations to create training and workforce development pathways for aspiring entertainment professionals.
Civic Engagement & Advocacy
Roxanne co-created Be Woke. Vote., an award-winning social media initiative focused on increasing civic engagement among young audiences. Hosted by prominent voices including Van Jones, Roland Martin, and Tameka “Tiny” Harris, the series earned seven Webby Awards and became a notable platform for discussions surrounding social and political issues.
